I am a visual artist who lives and works in Los Angeles, California. I enjoy creating art that combines the Real with the Imaginary. I was an Art Professor for 20 years, teaching ceramics, glaze creation and glass fusing. During this time, I also created my own artwork, using a variety of materials including clay, wood, glass, fabric and paper.
My artwork has been exhibited in Art Galleries and Art Spaces in Peru, Michigan Maryland and California. After years of selling my artwork almost exclusively at Art Shows and Galleries, I decided to start my own company, SweetMelon Studio.
The goal of SweetMelon Studio is to spread the joy and energy of artful objects to a larger audience. Sometimes, a piece such as a framed composition, may serve a mostly decorative purpose. At other times, the piece may also be functional, such as with my Pillows, Masks, Accessory Organizers, Coasters, 15oz. Coffee Mugs and Embroidered T-shirts. What is true at all times, however, is that every artful object is handmade, original and certain to fascinate!
In my current collection, I combine different materials to create layers of meaning. By mixing vibrant color and black silhouettes, I create “Digital Collages” which both attract the viewer’s attention and convey a message, feeling or belief.
Part of my most recent designs are inspired by the Victorian Age. These designs are a combination of Dreams and Reality.
